Making Your Reservation
For the convenience of IMPAHC attendees, a block of rooms has been reserved at a special group rate, which is the prevailing Government rate of $239 per night for single or double occupancy (plus a 15-percent sales and occupancy tax, or $35.85, for a total of $275.85 per night). The room block is available from Monday, May 22, through Thursday, May 25, 2023.
To obtain this rate, please make your reservation as soon as possible. The cutoff date for reservations is Monday, May 8, 2023; after this date, reservations within the block may not be available.
To make your reservation online, please use the following link: The 17th IMPAHC Meeting Room. You can also make a hotel reservation by calling (800) 321-2211 or (301) 527-9000 and referencing the IMPAHC Meeting to receive the group’s block room rate.
A major credit card or debit card is required at the time of your reservation. Use this opportunity to select your room preference; otherwise, the hotel will assign room types based on availability when you check in.
A major credit or debit card is also needed upon arrival for incidental expenses (e.g., dining, in-room movies, phone calls) that must be paid at checkout. If you would like to guarantee your reservation by an alternate payment method, please contact the hotel reservation line directly at (800) 321–2211.
A reservation must be canceled no later than 48 hours prior to your planned arrival to avoid any penalties.
Hotel Details
The Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center is conveniently located near the National Cancer Institute – Shady Grove campus; a shuttle will transport attendees from the meeting location to and from the Courtyard Gaithersburg hotel. In addition, the Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center is accessible from the Shady Grove Metro station via a taxicab or ride-sharing service, and the Shady Grove Metro station is accessible from Washington, D.C., via the Metro’s Red Line.
The hotel sits on Rio Lake and is centrally located in the Rio Washingtonian Center, offering multiple, walkable dining, shopping, and entertainment options.
The Courtyard Gaithersburg hotel check-in time is 3:00 p.m., and the checkout time is 12:00 noon.

The Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center is accessible to three airports:
• Ronald Reagan Washington National (National) Airport (DCA)—23.3 miles
• Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)—29.7 miles
• Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI)—39.6 miles.
Ride-sharing services or airport shuttle services, such as SuperShuttle, are the best transportation options to and from all three airports, but meeting attendees can also take the Metro from National Airport to the Shady Grove Metro station, at which point they would then take a taxicab or call a ride-share service to take them to the Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center.
Rio Lakefront
The hotel is located in the heart of the Rio Lakefront, placing you steps away from numerous shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Rio Lakefront also offers unique outdoor activities, such as a walking path that takes you on a scenic stroll along the waterfront, fish-feeding stations, paddle boats, and even a ride on The Carousel.
